Für die Gestaltung der Klinge schöpfte Andrew Demko aus seinen umfassenden Erfahrungen als Elektromeister und Ingenieur: Als er beschloss, für die Arbeit sein eigenes Mehrzweckmesser von Hand zu fertigen, stellte er ein Karambit/Hawkbill-Hybridmesser her, das Seile, Kabel, Drähte und viel mehr durchschneiden konnte. Dieses Messer blieb jahrelang sein treuer Begleiter und als er von Cold Steel® gebeten wurde, seine eigene Version eines Klapp-Karambits zu entwerfen, fiel ihm sofort diese Klingenform ein.
Das Tiger Claw repliziert das Klingendesign von Andrews originalem Messer, ist aber aus hochwertigem amerikanischem Stahl* gefertigt. Es kombiniert die taktische Leistung des philippinischen oder indonesischen Kampf-Karambits mit der Nützlichkeit und Funktionalität des Hawkbill-Arbeitsmessers.
Mit der Demko-Daumenscheibe lässt sich das Tiger Claw beidhändig schnell aus der Tasche ziehen und öffnen, entweder im Fechtgriff oder im traditionellen Karambit-Griff (mit der Spitze nach unten).
Das Tiger Claw ist von Demkos typischem minimalistischem Stil geprägt. Es verfügt über einen ultraflachen, CNC-gefrästen Griff aus G-10, einen Knaufring aus schwarzem Aluminium und den exklusiven Tri-Ad®-Verriegelungsmechanismus von Cold Steel®.
