ArtisanCutlery wurde im Jahr 2018 als ein US-amerikanisches Unternehmen mit Sitz in Kalifornien gegründet. Die eigentliche Produktionsstätte von Artisan hat ihren Sitz jedoch in YangJiang China, in welcher bereits seit 2004 Messer für viele bekannte ausländische Messermarken im Auftrag gefertigt wurden. Aufgrund dieser erworbenen langjährigen Erfahrung in der Messerherstellung, sowie einem hochmodernen CNC-Maschinenpark, werden hier seit vielen Jahren Messer von höchster Qualität in unterschiedlichen Preissegmenten gefertigt.
Das Angebot von ArtisanCutlery reicht vom preisgünstigen Basismesser bis hin zu absoluten Hightech Modellen. Der Hersteller setzt dabei auf eine eigene Designsprache und arbeitet mit bekannten US-Designern zusammen. Als Griffmaterial kommen zahlreiche Materialen wie z. B. Edelsahl, G-10, Micarta, Karbon und Titan zum Einsatz.
Im Jahr 2019 wurde die Marke CJRB als kleiner Bruder und budgetorientierte Marke von ArtisanCutlery zum Leben erweckt. Die CJRB-Modelle standen dabei in Sachen Qualität auf Augenhöhe, verzichteten jedoch zunächst auf die teureren Importstähle. Der große Wurf gelang CJRB dann mit dem Modell Pyrite, welches sich zu einem absoluten Topseller mauserte und inzwischen in zahlreichen Varianten erhältlich ist. Neben perfekt funktionierenden Linerlock- und Boltlock Verriegelungen werden in nahezu allen Modellen Keramik-Kugellager für die Klingenführung verwendet, welches einen sehr geschmeidigen Gang dieser beim Öffnen und Schließen ermöglicht.

Der eigens für ArtisanCutlery im Jahr 2020 entwickelte pulvermetallurgische AR-RPM9 Stahl läuft dem bekannten häufig verwendeten D2 in der Einstiegsklasse mittlerweile den Rang ab. Er gilt als sehr korrosionsbeständig, besitzt eine gute Schnitthaltigkeit und lässt sich leicht schärfen. Er wird, im Gegensatz zu D2, in einem pulvermetallurgischen Verfahren hergestellt und besitzt eine feine Kornstruktur für eine gute Schärfe.
Die Modelle von ArtisanCutlery/CJRB sind meist mit unterschiedlichen Stählen und Griffmaterialien erhältlich, was den Preis ganz erheblich beeinflusst. Als Kunde kann man sich daher bei einem Messer der Wahl bewusst für seine persönliche Preisgrenze entscheiden. Die Modellnummer und der verwendete Klingenstahl ist auf jedem Messer eingelasert. Vor allem die Messer der Marke ArtisanCutlery wird teilweise mit sehr hochwertigen Nylontaschen ausgeliefert, was die Wertigkeit der Messer nochmals erhöht.
Wir haben uns von der Fertigungs- und Verarbeitungsqualität des Herstellers überzeugen lassen und uns entschlossen, die Marken ArtisanCutlery/CJRB in unser Vertriebsprogramm aufzunehmen. Die umfangreiche Produktpalette wird vor allem im Einstiegsbereich eine große Erweiterung in unser Sortiment darstellen.
