Die Spitze bildet eine geradlinige Verlängerung der Kraftlinie: so kann man das Messer mit einem entsprechenden Holzstab als improvisierten Speer einsetzen. Ein ausgeprägter Handschutz schützt die Finger davor, auf die Klinge vorzurutschen. Diese besteht aus 440C mit einer schwarzen Schutzbeschichtung und wurde wegen der höheren Stabilität mit durchgehendem Erl ausgeführt, dieser reicht also von der Klingenspitze bis zur abschließenden Riemenöse am hinteren Ende. Eine Nylonscheide mit Durchstichschutz und einer langen Längs- und vier schmalen Querschlaufen für den Gürtel schützt das OSK 1, wenn es nicht im Einsatz ist.
